                                       آه من، آه زندگی

آه من! آه زندگی!...

آه از پرسش­های مکرر؛

از قافله­یِ بی پایانِ خیانت­ها- از شهرهای انباشته از بلاهت؛

آه از خود من، منِ پیوسته  در سرزنشِ خویش (بخاطر آنهایی که ابله­تر از من­اند و کسانی که خائن­تر؟)،

آه از چشمهایی­ که بیهوده در انتظار نوراند- از بی­حیاییِ اشیا-  از ازدحام پست و پرتقلایی که اطرافم می­بینم؛

آه از سالیانِ پوچ و بی­حاصلِ باقی مانده- مانده از تتمه­یِِ  درهم پیچیده­یِ من؛

پرسش اینجا ست: آه من! در این چرخه­یِ غم، خوبی­یی هم هست؟

 

پاسخ:

این که تو اینجایی، که زندگی وجود دارد و هویت نیز،

این که نمایش قدرتمند ادامه می­یابد،

 و تو در شعری،

با من شریک خواهی شد.

Of eyes that vainly crave the light--of the objects mean--of the struggle ever renew'd;

Of the poor results of all--of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me;

Of the empty and useless years of the rest--with the rest me intertwined;

The question, O me! so sad, recurring--What good amid these, O me, O life?
